Answers you can check
Ask about a reading, a rubric, a grading scheme. Coursi searches the files from that course and answers out of them — then names the file it used, so you can go and read the passage yourself.

A specific answer is worth more than a reassuring one, so here is the whole of it.
Your coursework is never uploaded to Coursi
Courses, assignments, announcements, files and the search index are all built on your device and stay there. Coursi's servers have no copy and no way to ask for one.
Your Canvas and Learning Suite sign-in never leaves the device
It is held in the system keychain and used only to talk to your school. It is never sent to Coursi.
When you ask a question, the passage it matched goes to the AI model
That is how the answer can be about your actual materials. If you have supplied your own API key it goes straight to that provider under your key. Otherwise it goes through Coursi, which forwards it and stores nothing. Coursi never sends your coursework anywhere on its own.
Your chat history is stored so it can reach your other devices
Conversations, your own notes and your scheduling sync through Coursi, and an answer may quote the passage that produced it. Coursi is not zero-knowledge and will not claim to be. Deleting your account deletes it.

A credit is a unit of model cost, so a question to a small fast model spends a few and a question to the largest model spends more. The answer counts above are approximate and depend on how much of your material a question pulls in. Subscriptions are billed through the App Store and can be cancelled there at any time.
